My instrument fascination and building began with jazz guitars in 1995.

When my daughter became a classical guitar student at Interlochen Arts Academy in Traverse City, Michigan, I began building and experimenting with various classical guitar styles. As she continued her studies at the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, I decided to turn all of my time and energy into perfecting my classical guitars.

In 1998 I studied with Alan Chapman at the Leeds Guitar Makers’ School in Northampton, Massachusetts. I then spent the summer of 2001 in Oshawa, Canada, studying with Sergei de Jonge.

Two of my guitars were purchased by Interlochen Arts Academy for incoming guitar students.

My highest honor has been having renowned classical guitarist Paul Vondiziano, playing my guitar since 2003. It was a thrill to hear him play with the Kalamazoo Symphony and very exciting when he used my instrument to record his CD,  J.S. Bach (1685-1750), & his latest CD, Four Diverse Works For Guitar.

My goal as a luthier is to build quality instruments with my own personal signature tone.
